5 Essential Watering Tips For A Healthy Landscape In Las Vegas
Check your plants
Check your yard, plants, and timer once a month to make sure everything looks normal. Look for any signs of damage or leaks, and adjust your watering schedule as needed.
run your timer
Run your timer once a month and twice a month in the summer to check for leaks. This will help you identify and fix any leaks in your irrigation system before they cause damage to your yard.
run a test
Run a test 2-3 times a year to see how much water gathers around each plant or tree after a cycle. You should see a 3-foot circle of moisture around each plant to ensure all roots get a good soaking.
Turn off your timer
Turn off your timer during the winter and manually water your plants when needed, or twice a month heavily. Plants are dormant during the colder months, so they don’t need as much water.
Check your irrigation System
Have your irrigation system checked twice a year by a professional, ideally in late spring and late summer. This will ensure that your system is working efficiently and that you’re not wasting water.
